Reconocimiento / Acknowledgment

Estoy escribiendo esto para poner en perspectiva el trabajo que estoy haciendo. Me refier a usar las fotografías que han tomado otras personas para crear mis “transformaciones”. No estoy muy seguro si esto se puede considerar ético o no (Ya estaré incluyendo mi opinión acerca de ésto en otra entrada) pero mientras tanto sólo quiero decir esto:

I'm writing this as a way to place in a right perspective the work I'm doing here. And I mean using the photographs taken by other people to create my “transformations”. I'm not sure if this can be considered ethical or not (I'll be including my thoughts about it in another post) but in the mean time I just want to say this:

En ningun momento pretendo dar la impresión de que todo el trabajo es sólo mio, completamente original. Reconozco, agradezco y respeto el trabajo de los artistas originales, tanto fotógrafos como modelos. Si estoy usando su trabajo, para crear algo que considero bello a partir de él, es porque las fotos que he seleccionado, de entre miles y miles que hay en la red, me inspiran a hacer algo, las veo y no las veo. Las veo y las admiro como són, pero al mismo tiempo veo otra cosa, otra imagen dentro de ellas. Y es está visión la que estoy tratando de plasmar en este trabajo y que quiero compartir con ustedes.

I don't pretend to give the impression, at any time, that this work is wholly mine, completely original. I acknowledge, I'm thankful for, and I respect the work of the original artists, both photographers and models. If I am using their work, to create something that I consider beautiful from it, its because the picture I've selected, from thousands and thousands in the web, inspire me to do something, I see them and I don't see them. I see them and I admire the as they are, but at the same time I see something else, another image within them. And this is the vision I'm trying to catch in this work and that I want to share with you.

Así es que una vez más, gracias a todos los que me han inspirado. Gracias a las modelos que comparten sus cuerpos con nosotros, gracias a los fotografos que captan esas imágenes, esos momentos. Y gracias en especial a Chica, que me puso a pensar en esto.

So once again, thank you to all those who have inspired me. Thank you to the models who share their bodies with us, thank you to the photographers who catch those images, those moments. And specially thanks to Chica, who got me thinking about this.
